Incredibles Island will be familiar to “Super” fans as the former Nomanisan Island, the headquarters of evil super-genius Syndrome where he lured many a Super to his or her doom. Now, in the wake of the Incredibles’, er, incredible victory over Syndrome and his rampaging Omnidroid, government forces under Rick Dicker has reclaimed and rechristened Nomanisan Island as a tourist retreat. The Supers once again are becoming popular with the people of Metroville, and demand is great to visit the sights of the Incredibles’ exploits.

Vanquished Villain Redevelopment, in partnership with Edna Mode, the NSA (National Supers Agency), and The Incredibles Family Trust, proudly presents Incredibles Island. The natural volcanic beauty of this lush South Seas island combines with sleek mid-century super-science technology!
As our country grows increasingly accepting of the Supers, regular citizens start to show latent powers of their own! What better place to learn about your newfound heroic potential than on Nomanisan’s all-new Super Training Facility? Battle against recommissioned Omnidroid battle bots, train in a rocket launch base, or simply unwind on our Velocipad monorails while feasting on produce grown in volcanic soil. Floating retro-futuristic bridges (one of the many repurposed Syndrome gadgets) leads guests over to Incredibles Island from Adventure Archipelago. They first encounter an overgrown jungle filled with exotic foliage, and overseen by animatronic songbirds –in actuality, CCTV cameras formerly used for security. The island’s main pathway leads guests – aka Future Supers – past a glistening lagoon of natural rock arches and to a minimalist mid-century barracks built into the side of the towering volcano. Overhead, Velocipad monorails constantly zip past, providing Future Supers with their first introduction to their new life as Supers. |
ATTRACTIONS Nomanisan Velocipads
These bubble-shaped transport pods are a C-ticket transportation attraction traversing the whole of Incredibles Island. After loading from within a rocket command center, Future Supers enjoy a quick 10-minute tour along with voice over narration explaining the purpose of Incredibles Island. Rick Dicker starts out the overview, with special guest contributions from Bob Parr (aka Mr. Incredible), Helen Parr (aka Elastigirl), Edna Mode, and many others. Your Velocipad ride begins outdoors on monorail tracks towering over the jungle canopy. Unlike the classic ever-moving PeopleMover (found elsewhere in our park), the Velocipad is able to change its speed and pivot on its base, affording beautifully-framed views of Nomanisan’s many natural wonders. Glide silently over lagoons while onboard narration points out Manta Jets traveling underwater. Ahead is a towering waterfall. A robot arm sweeps the tumbling waters out of our way, as our Velocipad continues into the volcano’s interior. Through curving, modernist hallways, Future Supers enjoy views of a state-of-the-art rocket launch facility and laboratory – much of this is achieved via 3D screen techniques. Deeper and deeper through hi-tech spherical rooms, where hologram projections tell the history of Supers, about the Super Registration Act, about Syndrome’s Operation Kronos, and about the Superpower Rehabilitation Act which recently expanded superhero rights.
A ride on the Nomanisan Velocipads concludes back outside, where Musion hologram technology on the Velocipads’ screens convincincly populates the very real skies with amazing flying “Viper” helicopters and disc-shaped flying cars. Dicker’s narration waxes poetic about a harmonious future of technology and superpowers, combined together in fantastic – nay, incredible – new ways for the betterment of mankind. The Incredibles Battle Crisis
The Nomanisan Velocipads might be a lovely introduction to Incredibles Island, but the mini-land’s true highlight is The Incredibles Battle Crisis, an exciting E-ticket ride where guests battle alongside the Incredibles themselves against a dreadful new supervillain! Incredibles Battle Crisis combines a classic Disney boat ride with next-gen 3D simulations and a motion base, for a uniquely thrilling adventure.
Future Supers begin by queueing within the rocket facility within the volcano. Catwalks wend through caverns and over lava flows. Guests pass through a hidden “home-away-from-home” living quarters for the Incredibles family, filled to the brim with relics to the Glory Days, all vintage encased Super Suits and beautiful graphic design posters. Newspaper clippings lay out the history of the Supers and of Incredibles Island for guests who might not know. Onwards through hallways, interactive queue elements activate Syndrome’s old security measures – laser grids, sliding sci-fi doorways, tar bubble turrets. These measures are now made nonlethal, modified by the NSA’s super-scientists. In addition, they have positioned many “Super Tester” devices throughout the queue. With these machines, Future Super guests can test out for themselves many, many different superpowers via projection screens and VR. Laser eyes. Super strength. Ice breath. Elasticity. Invisibility and force fields. And many more! Ultimately, guests gather for a pre-show in a spherical computer room. Initially, a super-cheesy video (hosted by Frozone bickering with Mr. Incredible) welcomes guests into the world of superheroics. But suddenly alarms sound! Sparks and explosions pummel the chamber! An emergency video comes on. Mirage, panicking, explains that the island base is being attacked by an all-new supervillain, the Hydrocutioner! With his command over water itself, the Hydrocutioner has come to steal Syndrome’s old tech…and RULE THE WORLD! While all Supers rush out to defend the facility, guests are ushered down evacuation corridors to their escape boats.
Amidst blaring sirens and live video footage of the Hydrocutioner’s deadly water-based attack, guests proceed. They load onto modified WWII-era amphibious “ducky” jeeps. (You might recall similar boat-car hybrids from Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.) As a new ride system, these duckies are rather flexible. They begin floating peacefully upon the water…then speed onto the land, where motion bases take over (much like the jeeps of Indiana Jones Adventure or DINOSAUR) for a fun rough and tumble ride. Add in tasteful use of 3D screens – incorporated with physical sets, of course – and you have an expansive next-gen ride combining the best of Spider-Man and Shanghai’s Pirates of the Caribbean. Duckies begin by slowly floating down a subterranean waterway. Breaks in the cavern’s walls reveal the island’s lagoon outside, where (on screens) a ferocious battle is underway. The Hydrocutioner, a super-scientist villain in a Bioshock-style diving suit, commands the waters themselves with a ray device. He hurls massive globs of liquid at the Incredibles, who fight back with punches, kicks and tossed palm trees.
Duckies spin away from genuine explosions, to face an animatronic Frozone. He begs us to get out of the water, just as the Hydrocutioner’s blue ray envelops the nearby currents. A wave hurtles towards riders…and Frozone freezes it solid! Duckies race up onto an icy water surface, onto solid ground. The Hydrocutioner continues to hurl waves at us, which Frozone freezes into jagged physical ice spikes in the nick of time! ests race out into the jungle, amidst the fiery chaos of battle. “Living” water blobs endlessly attack. Water enters the electronics of idle Omnidroids and Manta Jets nearby, effectively controlling them. Thus giant physical robots attack riders! Duckies twist away turbulently!
Amidst this perpetual barrage, we are constantly rescued by Supers, one after another – Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, even Jack-Jack. Each encounter allows for unique physical effects! Violet’s force fields hold back an actual, physical tidal wave. Elastigirl flings riders in their duckies (in a wraparound screen moment) high over the treetops, right into Mr. Incredible’s hands. Dash tows duckies skimming across the water’s surface, pursued by the Hydrocutioner riding a typhoon vortex.
In the rousing climax, all our heroes team up and fight back using the island’s magma. Rampaging lava spigots overwhelm Hydrocutioner’s armies of anthropomorphized liquid. Mr. Incredible redirects the island’s rock formations, sending lava flowing straight into the Hydrocutioner! He is encased in a cooling mound of lava rock. The crisis is averted, and the Incredibles guide our duckies safely back to the rocket base to unload. The OmnispinnerSyndrome’s ball-shaped Omnidroid army is repurposed for fun! While the smaller, dog-sized models are reprogrammed as masseuses, the much larger Omnidroid v.10 is refashioned as The Omnispinner, an aerial carousel much like Tomorrowland’s Astro Orbiter. Guests circle the Omnispinner’s on its many robotic arms, seated within UFO-shaped Viper discs. Viper controls allow guests to adjust their height and spin their disc like a teacup! While The Omnispinner is a simple B-ticket flat ride spinner, it offers more control, and visually fits its land like a glove…altogether, another fine addition to Incredibles Island.
